Caol Ila has remained undiscovered by many but has become much-prized by malts lovers across the world. Nestled in a hidden cove near Port Askaig the isolated distillery built by Hector Henderson in 1846 has a rich heritage of producing fine malt whisky.The nose is fresh, herbal and smoky. On the palate, oily, cigar leaves, smoked ham and hickory. The finish is long, peppery, spicy warmth, smoke.
