Product Details

We are absolutely in love with this American beauty. From the USA’s oldest family-owned winery comes this rich, peppery zinfandel with hints of juicy raspberry and a luxurious velvety texture. Also known as primitivo and grown across the world, Zinfandel is well suited to the Californian climate. Known as a robust style of wine featuring blackberry, anise and peppery characters.

Whilst Shiraz is the benchmark standard for Australia, it’s all about Zinfandel if you’re from California. The origins link back to Primitivo in southern Italy. Zin is a fickle grape variety. On a single vine, it’s not uncommon to find perfectly ripe berries, along with shrivelled over-ripe examples and under-ripe green fruit. Care in the vineyard is critical to the quality of the finished wine, warmer sites are typically best suited to Zin. Wente is a family owned winery that focuses on classic Cali styled wine. The Beyers Ranch Zin is sourced from three different vineyards to added a complexity to the finished wine. This Zin is medium deep in colour, but weighty on the palate, alcohol pushing 15%, with a bramble red fruit and savory spice note. There’s nothing quite like made anywhere else in the world.

This wine shows bright red fruits on initial opening this flows onto the palate with hints of oak, There is plenty of flavour finishing dry and savoury. A great wine to have with marinated lamb chops
