Product Details

Meticulously crafted over its 21 years, this whisky is put through a combination of hand-selected American oak and ex-sherry casks, which impart the distinctive flavour of dried fruits and a bold richness, vibrant intensity and long finish. Each cask is hand-selected and individually nosed and approved, and every batch has its own special nuances, making it a rare and unique liquid indeed.

There are notes of sandalwood and pine with a resinous note. Potpourri creeps in with barley sugar and cereal notes with acacia honey. The palate is rich and full. There are notes of oily walnuts and winter fruitcake with spice and sugar.
There is a golden syrup note. The finish is long and sweet with a soft, chewy oak.

Enjoy with rich desserts of chocolate and fruit.

The dram delivers the elegant light floral GL character with a rum-sherry finish, hitting the woody/chocolate, Christmas cake/red velvet cake, dried fruits you would expect. However I can get this in the US for 100 dollars cheaper (180 USD), and even at that price-point, it still falls short of some of its cheaper peers: Balvenie 15, Bowmore 18, HP 1990, Clynelish DE, Oban DE, Glenfarclas 25, Glenmorangie Signet, Glendronach 21 etc. Not a bad dram, but an overpriced dram without question.
